- Write another one! You are on a roll now. (Hahaha just kidding– unless you have a really good idea….)
- Spend a lot of time in bed, catching up on various social media accounts and streaming Netflix.
- Do other things in bed…. like sleeping and eating snacks. (Get your mind out of the gutter!)
- Spend some much needed time with your family and friends. They have forgotten what you looked like, and what your pre-novel personality was like.
- Accept all congratulations and compliments from same friends and family about finishing your novel. They really are impressed and proud of you, even if it is just the first draft!
- Start some communications with a professional editor, if you haven’t already.
- Work on your query letter and synopsis.
- Get back into the gym. At the very least, take a walk around your neighborhood. Or at least to the other side of your house.
- Catch up on your reading list.
- And finally— start your first draft rewrite and edit. (The real work after the work of your novel.)
Happy Sunday!
You summed up the process perfectly.
I was chuckling at 3 and 8. But the other side of the house is so far..
It’s so far! I’ve only made the trek 3 times today
