I recently noted my thoughts were dark, and my entertainment choices were morbid. And it is just to sunny outside for all that! So, I decided to return to reading my first love: Fantasy!
I just finished Dawn of Wonder by the talented Jonathan Renshaw. Highly recommend it to any lovers of coming of age fantasy stories. It pays respect to the fantasy tropes we all love, keeping them fresh and entertaining. His website: http://www.jrenshaw.com/
I am about two thirds of the way through Uprooted by the amazing Naomi Novik. Wow. It’s hard to put down, and its a fascinating story. Her website: http://www.naominovik.com/uprooted/
Both of these novels have won a ton of awards, and deservedly so. Okay, back to reading! I have to know what happens next.
Uprooted sounds really good to me. I haven’t read any fantasy for awhile, and maybe I should start again with this one. Thanks for the recommendations!
You are welcome! If you pick it up let me know what you think. I always loved discussing good books!
Will do!
I read “Uprooted” recently! Such a great book. Could not put it down. Great to see someone else appreciate the book!
So good! I’m trying not to devour it, but savor it at a steady pace. Which is hard.
Slow paced is difficult with that one! I would love to read more of her work.
It looks like she has written some other stuff. I might check it out once I finish Uprooted
